Moving What's app to SD Card

Issue:


      All media can be saved directly onto that memory card, except for anything coming off whatsapp. I send and receive a lot of media from whatsapp, and every time someone sends me something, it automatically saves on the internal memory. Now with the amount I have used whatsapp in the past, the 16gb internal memory will not last.

                                                 

Solution 1:

                There are very few techniques to move apps like What's App to External SD Card. Rooting the phone  is one of them but is was not safe for our personal data. Any one can easily hack our phone and get our secure data like mobile banking passwords... etc

Solution 2:

                There was a simple solution which can move most of the default application to external SD card.
Step1: (Software Download)
                To  make SD card as your default storage android SDK tool kit is needed. Full SDK tool kit is of around 1 GB size. For your convinence i have given you separate link which contains adb tool that required to do the below operations. ( size is 1.69Mb)

Download the adb drivers for your device

By default adb drivers will be auto installed, if not download drivers for your model

Step2 : (Extracting)


                Extract the zip file. Create folder c:/androidsdk and save it in the created directory

Step3:

                enable USB debugging mode

                                                  

Select MTP mode when usb connected

                                                  

Step 4:


        Open Command prompt

                                  

>adb devices                      ---------to get list of devices       
>adb shell pm get-install-location
By default the location will be    0[auto]
>adb shell pm set-install-location 2          ----------- to set location to externel sd card

   Note:  Most of the default apps can be moved to SD Card, Only apps that are inbuilt with OS cannot be moved. Remaining all apps will be auto installed to SD card by default

Problem:

    
 There's a short cut called "Web Games" that keeps showing up on my Home Screen. I cannot trace where it came from. The short cut opens a Website called "h5playlist.com" which is a simple HTML 5 based Game Website with a few random games. The Whois of the Website traces to a Chinese Domain Name Provider, ename.com, and the games are provided by a German HTML 5 Game company, softgames.de.
      

Cause: 

                Web games shortcut was created because of a modification done to firmware by an unknown application.  It will be because of allowing installation of unknown source in android. You can identify the root cause application. Below is one of the cause of webgames application.

Step1:(backup)
                Make a backup of all your data by using any of the software's available in the market.
Ex: Superbackup,

Step2:(Kernal Flashing)

                For samsung mobile download kies software and select "firmware upgrade and initialization", it will ask for model and serial number. Then it will automatically downloads original firmware from samsung website and flashes you phone.




Most of the phone model brands are providing the pc suit software for flashing you OS firmware. If your phone is under warranty  better go to service centre for flashing your phone.

Problem:

Route Cause: 


                Web games shortcut was created because of a modification done to firmware by an unknown application.  It will be because of allowing installation of unknown source in android. You can identify the root cause application. Below is one of the cause of webgames application.


 



Com.androidhelper.sdk is the service in my Samsung galaxy grand 2 creating web games shortcut.

Solution1:

                Most of us does not want to reset our phone. In this case even you reset the phone also you will not get any solution. As the third party application modified your firmware. Flashing will only works. I will show you a best solution with out flashing your phone.
Step1: (Identify)
                Identify the route case of the web games short cut. Mostly it will be because of com services.  You can identify it by finding it in downloaded list. All com services willl be displayed in All applications tab. If you find and such com.androidhelper.sdk service in downloaded list.

Step2: (Unistall)
                Uninstall the service which you found is the route cause for the web games shortcut. You can only unistall the updates as it was system default service modified by third party application

Step3:(Disable)
                Go to all application list and disable the service com.androidhelper.sdk or which you identified as the route cause for the above problem.

Step4:(Block internet access)
                If you are not using any internet in your mobile it is ok your issue was solved. If you are using an active internet connection you need to block the internet access to the disabled service com.androidhelper.sdk or service which you identified as the route cause for the problem.

For blocking internet connection i used "no root data firewall" which was available in playstore.

                                  


                    You need to block background connections for download manager in some cases if you still getting this issue.

Note: With out blocking background data, even if you disable the connection. It will auto enable, updates and starts creating webgames shortcut.
